The cellist Lionel Handy completes his survey of Bax’s music for cello and piano by recording the Cello Sonata in E flat major for the Lyrita Label. The disc will also include John Ireland’s Cello Sonata in G minor. Handy has recorded Bax’s Cello Concerto for Lyrita and a disc of Bax’s works for cello and piano that did not include the Cello Sonata. The pianist for this new Lyrita disc has not yet been announced.
